The last sermon in the Hong Kong and Kowloon Spiritual Renewal and Bible Study Conference ended in the middle of August in Hong Kong talked about the needs of this Setia Bible College too. It has been broadcast to 50 churches in Hong Kong, North American and Australia. Hope more prayer and financial support will be given to them.

Believe me, during February in Missouri, NO ONE HERE would fault you for choosing to be there. Everyone is so tired of brown, muddy grass, dead-looking trees, cloudy skies and rain mixed with sleet. We've had a couple of good snows this season, but they never linger long enough and always leave behind just more muddy drear.

Fortunately (Or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) we had our first 70-degree day here this past week, which served as a welcome respite from the cold. Of course, the downside there is that it's made the yearning for Spring just that much worse. Ah, well.

Susanna saw me looking at the pictures and said, "Hey! That's Sheralynn! Can SHE come to my [birthday] party? I miss her."

It is always interesting to me to observe the various ways that participants in other religions pay tribute to their 'gods'. I don't know if you remember the big chinese buffet in Cave Springs, but like Buddhist Chinese, they have a little room right off of the entrance that is closed off by a louvred door. On occasions I've see this open, and they have a statue set up in there with a sand pit before it with incense sticks stuck into it. When I was dating Sean, he explained that the Chinese people have four of these statues, each representing some 'good thing'. The one in the restaurant is the one I recognize as symbolizing 'wealth and prosperity', so I imagine it makes sense that the proprietors would be paying tribute to that entity in their place of business.

I find that sort of thing both encouraging and depressing at the same time. On one hand, the fact that every culture seems to have its own entity (even the athiests, whose diety of choice is mankind) just underscores the inherent knowledge of God that we were taught exists in our hearts. However, it is sad to see the knowledge applied in the wrong direction, too. It makes me all the more proud to know you and support what you're doing over there.

The boys' Scout dens put together shoeboxes as a part of Operation Christmas Child, which may actually serve your area. ;) It's neat to hear about local efforts to do the same thing.

We miss you guys. And I feel like a schmuck for not having written sooner, but we're swamped here too. I have a lot to tell you, so I'll try to make time tonight. Operative word there is 'try'. :/

Hi Sarah and Mike, I hope that you check this often. I remember you saying that it may be a real possibility that you were going to Indonesia. Praise God. I will have to read your blog more closely when my girls are asleep. I have a Christmas card for you, but obviously don't have an address for you, that is how I came upon your blog. Please e-mail me at erinannepro@hotmail.com with your address and I will get it in the mail to you. We are expecting twins at the end of of March, a boy and a girl. Merry Christmas in the meantime. Love, Erin and fam
